CENTRE FOR PRAGMATICS RESEARCH

The Centre for Pragmatics Research (CPR) is a key research centre at the Research Institute for Linguistics, specialising in the study of the relationship between language and society. The Centre serves as a hub for various strands of inquiries in the field of pragmatics and is home for various high-impact national and international projects.

We locate in Budapest, Hungary. Staff members of the Centre include international scholars, who are leading and actively involved in multiple domestic (Hungarian) and international research projects funded by different academic institutions around the world. Our team have disseminated research outputs in the form of papers published in leading international journals, as well volumes published with leading international academic publishers (e.g. Cambridge University Press). We also host international academic events and reach out to the society to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience.

The Centre is happy to host international visitors. We are also happy to provide advice in pragmatics-related inquiries. The Director of the Centre, Prof Daniel Kadar, can be contacted on the following email address: daniel.z.kadar@nytud.mta.hu
